What's On > The tank: The Fray Bentos Story

"This is the story almost forgotten without trace,
Inside the Fray Bentos, a crew you will surely embrace
A story about inspiration, courage of which should be spoken
Reminding us of the human spirit that should never be broken."

France 1917, a small crew of men led by Captain Donald Richardson lie trapped under siege in no man's land during the first world war. Brought together to form a crew of one of the first tanks to take part in battle; this short play is inspired by the true story of the remarkable men their courage and determination to survive against the odds and to get back home again.

Performed completely free of charge as part of the end of a six month community theatre project using performance techniques to explore life for soldiers during the first world war. The play includes a group of wonderfully talented actors and directed by Alfie James.
