What's On > Photography: [De]materialised - Roehampton Photography Alumni
The exhibition, Photography: [De]materialised is organised with a group of Roehampton Photography Alumni.
As image making evolves, changes are emerging that begin to question the boundaries of the photograph and the forms in which it is presented. Technological changes parallel earlier photographic strategies where the idea being communicated was less important than the form the artwork or photograph took. This evolution has arguably resulted in what could be described as the dematerialisation of the photograph. This dematerialisation of the medium of photography has prompted a new generation of photographers and artists to explore the photography through the question of materiality. 8 alumni from the University of Roehampton London Photography programme will be exhibiting work responding to the idea of the de-materialised photographic image using a variety of different visual approaches.
The exhibition has been organised by Roehampton alumni’s Marco Pereira and Marianne Bjørnmyr in collaboration with Dr Mark Riley from the Photography Programme at the University of Roehampton London.< back to What's On
