Photographer Philip Cunningham spent much of his life living and teaching in the East End.

In the mid 1970s he became a youth worker at Oxford House while studying Art at Ravensbourne College.

Encouraged by his tutors, Philip photographed life around him. These photographs captured life and youth culture at Oxford House’s Youth Club in the 1970s. They also capture the East End during a time of great change.  A selection of these photographs are on display in our popular current exhibition, Youth of Yesterday. In this talk Philip will be showcasing and discussing more of his images about the East End and the stories behind them.
