We are looking for trustees to join a board that is ambitious, skilled and wants to see Oxford House thrive

Like to become a trustee of Oxford House?

It’s a great time to join us. Following a major refurbishment in 2019 and having emerged from lockdown we are so pleased to welcome visitors to our lovely café and gallery. We are also halfway through a fascinating Heritage Lottery funded project exploring our archives (concentrating on the role of women, young people and social action and the Somali community) leading to all sorts of creative and participatory projects. Our community programme of performing arts for young and older audiences is well underway and our monthly jazz gigs in the cafe are swinging!

Some of our current trustees are standing down as they have reached the end of their terms. We are looking to recruit new trustees and yes it does not matter if this is your first time. We remain as determined as ever to ensure we have a board that has the right skills and reflects the communities we serve.

If you want to join a board that is ambitious, skilled and wants to see Oxford House thrive, then look no further.

Being reflective of the communities we work with is important so we are keen to strengthen the voices of Asian, Black and Global Majority people, those who are disabled, and those from the LGBTQ+ community and /or from lower socio-economic backgrounds, to the board. If you identify this way, you can tell us this in your own words in your application.

You may also have other specific skills including

  • Fundraising
  • Creative industries incl programming
  • Participatory arts
  • Marketing and communications
  • Creatively managing historic buildings

Oxford House is a tremendous community and arts space, offering an amazing mix of activities all under one roof. We are home to 20+ arts, cultural and campaigning organisations who rent office space from us, provide an arts centre that includes a theatre, gallery and dance studio, have a new café/bar with an outdoor terrace in the Pocket Park created in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council.
