A project that documents dance amongst people in their Third Age, especially projects that break away from traditional dance projects with seniors; challenging stereotypes of older people’s capabilities to create a more optimistic view of ageing in our society. It is a collaboration with the Seniors Dancers (age 60+) from Green Candle Dance Company, based in Bethnal Green, London.
The project combines dance, photography and sound to create a sonic visual language using scientific technology. Converting images into audio, then, creating spectrographs from the audio files – the photograph’s tones and forms are translated into various frequencies.
