After a sell-out run, The Play Is Not The Thing return for a community performance of ‘The Women’s Centre’. The play is set over the course of a working day at a fictional women’s centre in East London. It is a peek behind the curtain into the world of charity. It explores the frictions and contradictions at play in the sector, it asks questions of who holds the power and whether it could be redistributed to benefit the whole system. Most of all, it’s an ode to sisterhood and the transformative power of community spaces filled with warmth and heart.
