Lucie Matthews-Jones has been writing and researching about settlement houses like Oxford House for 15 years. She is based at Liverpool John Moores University, where she is a Reader in Victorian History. Her work has appeared in journals such as Victorian Studies, the Historical JournalCultural and Social History, and the Journal of Victorian Culture. She is currently witing her book Settling: The Making of the British Settlement Movement, 1880–1920. She is looking forward to sharing her bedroom titbits with you in February!
