Calling all emerging photographers!
Sign up for ‘Reframing the East End’, a FREE creative photography project offering a unique opportunity to be mentored by Rehan Jamil, a British Pakistani social documentary photographer. Capture fresh perspectives on the East End’s past and present to exhibit at Oxford House.
The project begins with a hands-on workshop at Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives, where you’ll explore archival material from Oxford House and the surrounding area to inspire your own photographic work. With Rehan’s guidance, you’ll head out on street photography sessions, refine your images through editing workshops, and learn about curation during a visit to Whitechapel Gallery.
Your photographs will be curated collectively and exhibited at Oxford House, forming part of our summer exhibition, offering a great platform to share new perspectives of the East End.
Please note the first day will run from 10am to 5pm and thereafter 10am to 1pm.
Programme schedule:
• Fri 24 April, 10am–5pm: Archive workshop at the Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives, lunch provided at Oxford House, afternoon activity
