An exhibition exploring fresh perspectives on the East End through archival research and street photography.

Reframing the East End

  • Free!

Reframing the East End is a participatory photography project developed with social documentary photographer Rehan Jamil. Through street photography workshops, archival research facilitated by Tower Hamlets Library and Archives, and curatorial sessions with the Whitechapel Gallery, participants explored Bethnal Green and created images that reflect the identity of the East End today.

The resulting show brings together a collection of contemporary images that offer personal and often unexpected perspectives on the East End, creating a dialogue between past and present while reflecting the diverse experiences of those who live, work and spend time here.

Exhibition open from 1 July to 11 September 2026, in the Oxford House Cafe Gallery.
