Film Screening + Panel Discussion brings the community together for an evening of film exploring Black life, identity and representation in Britain and the wider diaspora.

The screening will feature Mon Âme alongside other films that celebrate Black experiences, histories and contemporary life. Mon Âme celebrates not only Black history, but Black life as it is being lived and created today, using filmmaking as a way to preserve the experiences, relationships and cultural practices shaping a new generation.

Following the screening, a panel discussion will explore themes raised by the films, considering Black British identity, community and the future of Black communities in the East End.

Part of Oxford House’s Made in the East End: Black History Month programme, the evening creates a space to reflect on the importance of film in documenting lived experiences, preserving cultural memory and sharing stories that have often been underrepresented.
